Students can only sign up for classes if they have the correct code and their BUSD email information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/drive.google.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Google Drive<\/strong><\/a><br \/>Google Drive&nbsp;has storage and an online office suite (word processor, spreadsheet, et cetera). Google Drive is free for everyone, but students should sign in with their school email for maximum compatibility with Google Classroom. Student accounts should only be used for schoolwork.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/login.microsoftonline.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Microsoft Online<\/a><\/strong><br \/>All BUSD students have a free Microsoft Online&nbsp;account. The account gives them access to several useful tools including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Office365<\/strong>, an online version of the Microsoft Office Suite<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>OneDrive<\/strong>, one terabyte of&nbsp;online storage.&nbsp;Student accounts should only be used for schoolwork.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Your login name or Microsoft Online is the same as your school login with &#8220;@stu.burbankusd.org&#8221; on the end, and your password is your school login password.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/library.local\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Library Lookup<\/strong><\/a> (only works on campus)<br \/>Find out what&#8217;s available in our library!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/burbanklibrary.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Burbank Public Library<\/strong><\/a><br \/><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lapl.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Los Angeles Public Library<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/aeries-net.burbankusd.org\/ParentPortal\/LoginParent.aspx?page=default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Aeries Portal<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Typing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/typing.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Typing.com<\/a><\/strong><br \/>6th grade students participating in the keyboarding section of the wheel will use this site to practice typing skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Digital Media Software<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.adobe.com\/downloads.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Adobe Creative Cloud<\/strong><\/a><br \/>Unfortunately, we cannot provide student versions of any Adobe software. However, Adobe does have trial versions of their software available. They are fully functional for 30 days. You can also purchase a student Creative Cloud license. It&#8217;s $9.99 for Photoshop (which we use a lot) &amp; Lightroom (which we never use, but it&#8217;s part of the bundle). You can also lease the full Creative Cloud bundle (including Premiere Pro, After Effects, Dreamweaver, and Audition) monthly. &nbsp;<strong><em>Note: Students are not required to have any software at home. They will have plenty of time to complete all assignments during class.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.photopea.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Photopea<\/strong><\/a><br \/><strong><a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/pixlr.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Pixlr<\/a><\/strong><br \/><strong><a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sumopaint.com\/home\/\" target=\"_blank\">Sumopaint<\/a><\/strong><br \/>These free alternatives to Photoshop run in your web browser. They do not have all of the power of Photoshop, but they can do a great deal of work, and each one has some unique features.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/canva.com\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Canva<\/strong><\/a><br \/>Canva is a drag and drop video editing site. A basic account is free, but they charge for featured content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.blackmagicdesign.com\/products\/davinciresolve\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>DaVinci Resolve<\/strong><\/a><br \/>DaVinci Resolve is a powerful video editing suite that has a almost fully functional free version. It has pre-written lessons to guide self learners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/snap.berkeley.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Snap<\/strong><\/a><br \/>Snap is a variation of Scratch with some more mature features.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/woofjs.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Woof<\/strong><\/a><br \/>Woof is a step between Scratch and pure coding. It is a Javascript library with code snippets that emulate Scratch blocks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.codecademy.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Codecademy<\/a><\/strong><br \/>Codecademy moves beyond preformatted blocks and teaches learners to manually write code. Students can learn everything from the basics of web page creation to implementation of databases with Ruby on Rails.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Writing\/Creating<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.celtx.com\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Celtx<\/a><\/strong><br \/>Celtx is a script writing tool. Their is a pay version with tons of bells and whistles, but the free one will help you create and properly format a script.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/writersroom\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>BBC Writers Room<\/strong><\/a><br \/>Learn how to write a script. Do well and you could be writing for the BBC! BONUS: Tons of free scripts!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/dictionary.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">dictionary.com<\/a><\/strong><br \/>An online dictionary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/merriam-webster.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>merriam-webster.com<\/strong><\/a><br \/>Another online dictionary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bibme.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>BibMe<\/strong><\/a><br \/><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.easybib.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">EasyBib<br \/><\/a><\/strong>BibMe and EasyBib are two sites that do the same thing: help you create a proper bibliography\/works cited page. You put in the information, and they put it in the right location!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/twinery.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Twine<\/strong><\/a><br \/>Twine is a free program for creating non-linear stories. Think &#8220;Choose Your Own Adventure.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.writerhymes.com\/\"><strong>Write Rhymes<\/strong><\/a><br \/>A rhyme finder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.powerthesaurus.org\/\"><strong>Power Thesaurus<\/strong><\/a><br \/>Find synonyms and antonyms. Don&#8217;t go crazy with this.
